REPORT TO: National Account Controller

Purpose of the role:

With our entrepreneurial spirit and drive to succeed we need a dynamic National Account Manager to build on our core business with a key retailer partnership. You’ll develop existing accounts and look for new business to add to our already prestigious portfolio. You will plan and oversee all aspects of the projects and meet the desired goals. You will oversee the organisation and scheduling of people, tasks and resources.

As part of your role you will develop the premium grocer cross functional team to ensure all members of the team are upskilled in the product skill matrix in order to support the commercial function to hit budget. You will identify gaps in the existing skillset, train and mentor team members to support their growth and value to the team 

Key Responsibilities:

Purpose of the role:

The Personal Assistant to the CEO & Executive Suite is a central operator within the business, ensuring the CEO and senior leadership team are aligned, prioritised, and operating effectively.

This role is less about traditional administrative support and more about driving rhythm, coordination, and flow across the Exec layer. You will act as the connective tissue between the CEO, Exec team, and wider business, ensuring priorities translate into action.

While the role includes core Executive Assistant responsibilities, the primary focus is on enabling leadership effectiveness, managing competing priorities, and keeping the business moving at pace.

  • Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly revenue and margin targets across all eCommerce channels

REPORT TO: Senior Technical Manager

LOCATION: Hybrid, commuting distance to Christchurch, Dorset

Purpose of the role:

The successful candidate will liaise with technical teams at both retailers and manufacturing suppliers worldwide. The successful candidate will support the Senior Technical Managers in delivering successful new product development projects; ensuring all key technical elements of a project are diligently completed and communicated to Solent’s customers

The role will also involve travel to various locations around the world to attend factory trials, pre-production and product launches and to meet with customers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting across formulated technical product development, innovation, quality assurance and launch, with a focus on personal care products and ranges
  • Working with technical teams in UK and Asia to ensure all technical aspects of a project are completed, for example safety assessment, product performance testing, regulatory compliance, Product specifications and legal checks etc
  • Coordinating with the quality team to prepare the product specifications and drafting quality contracts where applicable. Ensuring awareness by customers and manufacturing suppliers for the required quality assurance
  • Check product artwork, packaging and labelling for compliance with relevant regional legislation
  • Work closely with the internal Product and Commercial teams to ensure all technical requirements are applied during the NPD process and new launches
  • Travel to various locations with line manager to attend factory initial visits, development trials, pre-production and product launches
  • Attend conferences, exhibitions, and trade shows to keep on top of innovations and opportunities with new materials, production techniques or products

About You:

  • Experience of technical product development and delivery to market
  • Desirable – particularly in the personal care or cosmetic industries

You will play a key role in driving sales, enhancing customer relationships and securing new business, in addition to supporting the wider team. You will have full ownership of your sales performance focusing on achieving targets across your customer base. Active with all customers with regular face to face meetings presenting all products and identifying new opportunities

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Regular customer meetings to maintain accounts and present NPD
  • Hunter, identifying and securing new business opportunities within the market
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all customers to ensure product listings and growth
  • Manage a designated sales territory and plan efficient travel routes
  • Regular trade visits
  • Help to manage all aspects of: Budgeting, Forecasting, objectives, etc
  • Set and achieve sales targets
  • Monitor sales performance weekly
  • Provide regular sales reports across the account base
  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify risks and opportunities

Experience and knowledge:

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in a Field Sales role
  • Ability to work independently and on the field
  • Time management and territory planning
  • Self-motivation and target-driven mindset
  • Problem-solving and customer-focused approach
  • Understanding of the basic supply and manufacturing process, with established industry networks
  • Experience and/or personal interest in household and health & beauty products (desirable)
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Confident presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Commercially astute, with a sales-driven approach and a focus on exceeding targets
  • Strong attention to detail with a personable and creative mindset
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, including Operations, Technical, Finance, and Product
  • Strong time management and a proactive work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and good collaboration, communication, and project management skills
  • Fluent use of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel and Power Point
